MENTAL HEALTH PRACTICE NURSES AT MEDI7 CLINICS

Mental health practice nurses are now available at Medi7 Clinics to support GP access to timely, responsive and effective mental health care. In partnership with Healthcare United we aim to simplify access to mental health care for GP’s.

All mental health nurses at Medi7 have completed competency based training in core areas of practice, in readiness to support the GP’s. This enables an additional choice of mental health care service delivery.

Specialized mental health practice nurses will simplify access to specialized mental health care providers

NURSING SERVICES PROVIDED

At the direction of the treating GP, Mental Health Practice Nurses will

• Complete mental health assessments and develop mental health care plans

• Regularly review the patients mental state in response to treatments administered

• Administer, monitor and ensure optimal medication strategy adherence, including compliance training

• Establish and maintain interagency and multi-disciplinary links including case conferencing with General Practitioners, allied health workers, psychiatrists and psychologists under Medicare funding arrangements

• Coordinate services for patients between GP’s, allied health workers, psychiatrists and psychologists including arranging access to interventions from other health professionals as required.

• Provide evidence based and best practice treatments as per GP Mental Health Care
